Dance With Me PTT# 48

This pretty ballerina is a digi stamp from the collection of stamps by Paper Shelter. I thought she was a good choice for Party Time Tuesday's Anything Goes Challenge this week. To check out their challenges see:

http://partytimetuesdays.blogspot.com/

I chose to use a piece of designer paper for the background and punched the edge with an EK punch. I added a purple die cut frame trimmed in pale pink pearls to encircle the image. I added a flower made from Tim Holtz's Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die and bling to complete this dainty card. I like this flower that the strip die makes because it travels well in the mail and does not make the card too bulky.

I Don’t Want Life To Imitate Art .....PTT#48

I created this card for Party Time Tuesday's Anything Goes challenge (PTT #48) this week. Join the fun and check out their challenges at:

http://partytimetuesdays.blogspot.com/

When I was looking through my stash of unmounted rubber stamps and came across this rubber stamp that I have never used and I am not sure who the company is that made such a beautiful stamp. I think the lady is very interestingly dressed in a colourful patterned outfit. The stamp has a quote written on the brim of the hat by Carrie Fisher: "I don't want life to imitate art. I want life to BE art."

I coloured the image with my markers and glitter pen and added some bling. I then layered the image with some interesting papers and added round paper clips that mimic the design on her face and dress. Lastly I added the word "Life" using a stamp by Stampin Up and the word "Art" with letters from an alphabet set.

Hope you enjoyed the card. Thanks for stopping by.

Pink, Yellow and Blue

Tonight I was working on another card swap for the Inky Fun Stampers. The theme of this monthly swap is the colours pink, yellow and blue. I chose to use a rubber stamp by Whippersnapper Designs called Stack O' B'day Cakes. I love this quirky lopsided birthday cake and I thought it was a good choice for this colour theme.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day

H is for Howdy

The card I have been working on tonight is a card for an upcoming card swap with my stamping Yahoo group the Inky Fun Stampers. The theme of the swap is “H is for .....”.

I chose to make a card using an unmounted stamp I had in my stash of three horses. The stamp is called "Three Beauties" and is by Coronado Island Designs and Stamps.

http://cidesignstamps.com/store/

Do you remember this “Howdy” sentiment stamp from Stampin Up. It was part of a set with a little cowboy and his wooden pony.

I kept this card simply just layering coordinating papers and adding a brad. Well back to my craft room to clean up my mess.

Have a creative day. Judy

New Years 2012

This card was created for an upcoming swap I have with one of the Yahoo groups I belong to called The Inky Fun Stampers. One of this month’s swap challenges was to create a New Years card. The little guy spray painting the upcoming year on the wall is a free digi image by Sliekje’s Digi Stamps. I love the little blue jean outfit he is wearing.

You can find more free stamps by Sliekje’s Digi Stamps at: http://sliekje.blogspot.com/

After giving the image some colour I added stars in red and silver. I then punched the corners with a star corner punch that I have had for years and I believed never used. I then added some bling and a sentiment to complete the card.

The card is quite colourful and welcoming of the new year.

Have a creative day.

An Assortment Of Cards

This week I have been busy making a selection of cards as hosted gifts for the upcoming holiday season. I tried to make a variety of cards that would come in hand for the recipient in the upcoming years. The cards I have added to my site are a few that I made. I hope they will enjoy my selection.

Come and Get It Challenges

This card is all about red and green. I love this little elf from a new company I found on the internet called Sliekju’s Digi Stamps, located in the Netherlands. The company has a lot of free digis, to check out her web site see:

http://sliekje.blogspot.com/

I stamped a flourish from Quiet Fire designs on my red background paper and then coloured my elf with my Copics, added layers of papers, die cut stars and a sentiment from a book of Christmas papers I had in my stash. Bling, glitter, a button and bow completed the card and it is ready to send to a special friend. The card says Happy Holidays.

From My House To Yours - PTT#45

Today’s card was made for this week’s Party Time Tuesday challenge and guess what it is another Christmas Card. The theme of the challenge is “Holiday Greetings”. I love the colour I chose for the Christmas bells. You do not see a lot of turquoise blue on Christmas cards and I love the combination of gold, silver and turquoise blue. These beautiful Christmas bells are from the collection of stamps by Just Inklined Digital Stamps.

I adhered a layer the snowflake embossed paper and punched silver snowflakes to the card. I then added the sentiment, ribbon and some bling to finish the card.

I need to clean up my craft room before I start another project. I still have a few Christmas projects to finish and Christmas will be here soon.

Have a wonderful creative day.

I then added diamond glaze to the sunglasses and the reindeers red nose to add some shine to the card. The “Be Merry” sentiment is by A Muse Artstamps. Do you think he will enjoy the card?

It is Blog Hop Time at Yahoo Group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps

This blog hop is all about Holiday tags and is also a scavanger hunt. Collect a letter from each blogs and once you have all the letters , make a wish out of them and email your answer to Hetty privately at: buzzy4you@hotmail.com NOT in the comment! Hetty will pick a winner on Wednesday the 7th of December. Prize: of course a Michael Strong stamp.

I do not at this time own any Michael Strong Christmas themed rubber stamps so this hop was more enjoyable for me because I had to search my imagination for some unconventional holiday tags.

I used Michael’s Cloisonné fish to create my Jinggle Fish. I thought he was kind of cute.

I used three of Michael’s Cloisonné triangles to create my Christmas tree and then I coloured it with my metallic rub ons and added some bling.

To make these tags I used parts of the Cloisonné frames that I had in my stash from previous projects along with some die cuts and ribbon.

For the final tag I used the Cloisonné cat and added a tree and a couple of sentiment stamps and fibre that I had in my stash.

My blog letter for this scavenger hunt is "L'.

The next Blog to visit is Kathie Mcguire's

Penguins in Love

Hello fellow crafters! Tonight I made a card for an upcoming swap I am participating in at one of my favourite groups, Inky Fun Stampers.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/inkyfunstampers/

The theme of the swap is “Penguins’. When I saw Pollycraft Digi Stamps’ penguin images called “Penguin Love” I thought this was the perfect stamp for this project and today in my email also came several free vintage snowflake images from Graphic Fairy. I used the snowflakes in a collage for the background paper. Check out the snowflakes at:

http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/2011/11/vintage-clip-art-pretty-snowflakes.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FzQGfm+%28*The+Graphics+Fairy*%29&utm_content=Yahoo%21+Mail

I coloured my penguins with my Copics, used tumbled glass distress inks to edge the papers then added snowflakes and bling. I used snow writer, Sparkly Fluff and glitter to give the hats texture and sparkle. the added ribbon and a button to complete the card.

Well back to my craft room.

Centre Stair Fold Card - Come and Get it Challenges

Sunday is time for Come and Get it Challenges and my last weeks as one their guest designer. Their Challenges are posted every Sunday Morning and I am probably one of first to check them out on Sundays. Every week they change the type of card you make.

Week 1: Theme
Week 2: Color
Week 3: Sketch
Week 4: Technique
Week 5: Anything goes (if there is a 5th Sunday in the Month)

http://comeandgetitchallenges.blogspot.com/

This is week four and the technique is the centre step card. The directions for this card can be found on Splitcoaststampers web site.

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/centerstepcard/

I had fun colouring this pretty digi called Cloe Snow from McMahon Five Designs with my Copics, covered my card stock with some paper from my stash of Christmas papers and adding several sizes of snowflakes I cut out with my punches and die cutters and added them with dimensional tape. I then added glitter and bling to give the card sparkle and a free sentiment from Meljen Designs complete the card. I think with just changing the sentiment this card could easily be a winter birthday card.

Well back to my craft room.

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Party Time

This card tonight I made for my son’s birthday. I find it so hard to find images for a male’s theme card. One of the best sites to go to for me is Kenny K. Downloads. He has a great collection of images for a male card.

I particularly like this digi called "Party Time" paired with this funky styled black, white and gray paper. I coloured the image it with my Copics and added Diamond Glaze to give the watch and the sunglasses depth. To finish the card I added stars trimmed with my gold pen to give them depth, button, twine and two sentiment stamps by A Muse Artstamps.

My son says he checks my blog once in a while. I wonder if he will notice his card.

It is Party time Tuesday - Sketch #42

The sketch posted at Party Time Tuesday this week was fairly detailed and took some time for me to come up with how I was going to interpret the design. I had a couple of pieces of alcohol inked papers in my stash that were the inspiration and I used them as background papers and for the Christmas tree. I then chose this cute elf digi from Mo’s Digital Designs and a flowering Christmas tree metal die cutter from Memory Box. I added ribbon, a free sentiment from Meljen’s Designs and bling to complete the card.

I like how the card turned out even though it is a little busy.

Working on my Christmas Cards

This is one of many cards I made tonight getting ready for Christmas. I have had this Santa stamp for a long time and it seems to come out every year. I am not very good at making the same card over and over again so everyone usually gets a different card from me.

I have about two weeks to complete my cards so you may see a lot more Christmas cards over the next few weeks.

Kimono card

After my technique card yesterday for Enjoy Michael Strong Stamp Yahoo group I decide to paint another piece of paintable wallpaper with gesso and cut out the kimono pattern using Michael’s kimono metal die cutter and a butterfly using Joy Craft Cutting and embossing stencil, I then went looking for my Sparkling H20 to colour the kimono.

I love the way the kimono and butterfly sparkle and the way the colour adheres to the crevasses of the paper, there is no need for bling on this card.

Technique Day Michael Strong Rubber Stamps

Thursday is Technique Thursday for Yahoo Group – Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps and I have created this card for the today’s project. My inspiration for this card was the Cloisonné Fish from Michael Strong’s collection and the round easel card. The pattern for the card can be found at:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/easelcard/

I painted gesso on paintable wallpaper purchased at Walmart and cut out the circle for the background of my card and painted it with blue alcohol ink. I then cut out several different circles with my metal die cutters in a variety of papers to give the card a layered effect. I embossed one of the circles with the bubble embossing folder.

The Cloisonné Fish was stamped on glossy card stock that I had coloured with several different shades of alcohol ink. My husband took a fish hook and dulled the pointed end for me to add to the card, I then added lots of pearls, bling, sea shells and a sentiment.

I got carried away with the card but it was fun to do.

Thanks for stopping by.

Joy, Stand Up Christmas Card

It is day 3 of the card of the week for me for my yahoo group “Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps”.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enjoyMichaelStrongstamps/

I wanted to use Michael’s Cloisonne’ Mosaic frame rubber stamp and create a Christmas themed standing card. I had some chip board letters in my stash but the colours were wrong so I spray painted them gold then I stamped the frame three times and embossed the images with silver embossing powder. I then cut out part of the frame so that my letters would stand out. I coloured the frame by using several different colours of metallic rub on paint.

I had fun making the card and used many scraps from my stash. Remember if you use the frame stamp and cut out pieces save them for another project. The pieces make great embelishments.

Have a creative day.

Cloisonné Bird

Today is day 2 of my turn as Card Captain at one of my favourite Yahoo groups "Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps"

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enjoyMichaelStrongstamps/

This card was created using Michael Strong’s Cloisonné Bird rubber stamp. I love the shape of the bird and created this flower to go along with the bird and of course I had to add some bling, actually I added a lot of bling.

The flower was made by putting a thin strip of pattern paper through my corrugator crimper and then twisting it into a circle and taping in place with extra sticky tape. I used a coat button from my stash for the centre of the flower.

I will be making a card of the day using different ideas and techniques using my Michael Strong stamps. I hope that you like my ideas because I had lots of fun creating the different cards.

The card I created for today is a Christmas ornament I made by using two stamped images of the one of the Silhouette Fans rubber stamps from Michael’s collection. I added some ribbon, bling, and a glittered brad to decorate the ornament and an embossed silver paper with Christmas balls and added a little alcohol ink to give the background some more colour.

Party Time Tuesday Challenge PPT#40

The inspiration for this challenge was a photo of an amber coloured diamond. I chose to use this digi stamp from Just Inklined called ”giraffertys mum”. I used the giraffe for the rich amber colour of the photo and added some bling and glitter to represent the sparkle of the diamond. I added a sentiment and some stars to complete the design.

This was a fun swap. Thanks for stopping by.
