About Me

Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Sunshine in the Rain

I have been away from my stamp room this week because I was visiting my oldest grandson in Victoria. Of course I had to visit my two favourite Victoria stamp stores, Stampers and Lasting Impressions while there and purchased a few new stamps that were calling my name. You can never have too many stamps.

Tonight’s card was inspired by a side step card that used the Flourishes set called “Spring Flowers” on Splitcoaststampers site awhile ago. I just loved the stamp set and had to have it.

I combined parts of the Flourishes’ set with Penny Black’s “Sunshine in the Rain” stamp and came up with this card design. I coloured the card with Copic Markers and added Diamond Glaze to make the buttons shiny and to give the puddle a watery effect.

Well back to my craft room I go. We are off camping next week and I need to organize my craft tote so that I can take material along with me to make cards in the evening.
