New Beginnings

Crafty Cardmakers is having a New Beginning challenge, out first challenge this year.  Hope you join us this.

For my new beginnings card I decided to make a card for a new baby using a stamp from Stampin Up that I had in my collection for many years.  The stamp was originally a stamp on a roller but I unmounted it from the roller and use it as a conventional rubber stamp.  I have always loved this stamp and have used it as a group of onies or individually.

I coloured my images with watercolor , and added a heart button, ribbon and a sentiment to complete the card. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to stop by our  challenge blog to see the inspiring creations of the very talented design team.

The image I used is from Bugaboo one of your great sponsors this year and previous years.  The image is called  JJ Sewing Tape

The background of the card is some gelli print paper which I added sewing related stamps to create a collage.  The sentiment of a stamp from my stash.  To complete my card I added a thread card, measuring tape, a flower and thread.  Hope you enjoy my card and have a creative day.  Stop by our challenge blog to view the inspiring cards of our design team.

Altered Mixed Media Clipboard

This is our first challenge of 2017 at Creative Artiste.  Remember your project when entering this challenge must be mixed media. The term “mixed media art” is a broad definition that covers many arts and crafts, including collage, assemblage (both 2D and 3D), altered objects, including books and boxes, handmade greeting cards, artist trading cards (ATCs) and tags, art journalling and book making as long as you use more then 2 different media's. Hope you will join us this month.

This month our sponsor is a company called "Things to Alter".

Things to Alter

Things to Alter has a great selection of good quality products for all of our mixed media projects.

I have used a collage frame from Altered Things that I altered using Shabby Green embossing enamel from Stampendous.  The pictures of the solider are of my dad heading off to World War 2. I believe he was 18 in these pictures, too young to be going to war.   He was in the French Canadian Army Tank Core stationed in France.  I used the collage frame to accent some small bottle cap stickers from a book called Paris Passport.

I also in my collage I used several stencils, stamps and metal words to convey the theme of my project.

Here are some closer views.
