Monochromatic Challenge

Time for another great challenge at Crafty Cardmakers this month.  The theme of the challenge is monochromatic.

The trumpet player is an unmounted rubber stamp that was purchased at a garage sale and I am unable to find out who made the stamp.  The other stamps are from Hampton Art Stamps that make up my monochromatic collage.  I also used some washi tape and diamond glaze on the bubbles to give the card some texture.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to stop by our challenge blog to be inspired by our talented design team.

anything  mixed media goes.

Our wonderful sponsor this month is Scrapmatts and Papertoles Australia.

Scrapmatts has a wonderful selection of  chipboard products along with many other interesting art supplies.  I have used a few of their chipboard beach/ ocean chipboards for my canvas.  I also included many real shells, netting and pearls.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.

Altered Eclectic September Challenge

Time for another great challenge at Altered Eclectics this month.  This challenge blog is anything goes as long as it is mixed media or altered art.

This is my project for September, an altered box.

I stenciled a pattern on my box then covered the entire outside of my box with black gesso.  Next I added some findings that I had been collecting.  The findings included pins, flowers, shells leaves, gears, buttons etc.

This is part way through the project. I forgot to take a before picture.

I added a layer of black gesso on top of the findings and when I had everything covered in layer of the gesso I added sprays and mica powders for colour.
